Walking Supernaturally with Jesus.

Updated: Mar 20

A lady from Nebraska had searched the ministries of the world for answers on healing and power. However, she still had many physical issues and lacked the peace of mind that she sought. She came to the Lages' home in Iowa.

I had an idea! She could grow out my leg by my faith. I had one hundred percent confidence it would work. I had done this dozens or hundreds of times in a row without fail.

I decided to check my leg length privately.

Sure enough, my leg length needed to be adjusted. I came back to the living room and brought a folding chair with me.

I set my chair in front of her and said, “You’re going to pray for me, and my leg is going to grow out."

She wasn’t convinced it would work.

I told her to hold my two feet in her hands and pray for it to grow out. She did!

I kept my eyes open to watch the miracle. She closed her eyes, and I had to tell her to stop because it was even before she was done praying.

She didn't even believe it until she saw it. I believed it before I saw it. My faith trumped her doubts and yours can too!

What can you learn?

1. You can see God move through you even if there's doubt in the room.

2. If you speak in faith and don't pull back it will work.

3. Discipling others is not hard. Just teach them to do what Jesus commanded!

How I got results

I had come to the conclusion that if I would only believe, I would see the glory of God (John 11:40 and Luke 8:50). Any so-called hinderance to healing is a non-issue from this place. Jesus got 100 percent despite imperfect conditions and He wants us to get 100 percent too (John 14:12).

I had proved God faithful time and time again in this particular area of growing out legs. Only two times before did it not work, and God let me know what I needed to change in order to get to an unwavering place where it did work.

David in the Bible had proved God faithful with the lion and the bear. Of course Goliah was no big deal. It wasn't theory. He had exercised faith before in action.

The New Covenant commands us to be transformed by the renewal of our mind. We do this though putting feet to the scriptures, and not agreeing with the lies.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2 Berean Study Bible)

As for the discipleship end, we become great in the kingdom when we serve and equip others, not when we cause everyone to exalt us and are the only ones that can do the stuff. If don't train others, aren't following the command of Jesus to make disciples.

In my journey with the Lord, it’s a joy to get others equipped and I pray that you do as well!

Jesus walked in the fullness

Jesus operated in fullness of the Spirit and power. He was a man of authority and all of his words were spirit and life.

All seven spirits of God were upon Him.

He had wisdom. He had knowledge of even the thoughts of the heart. He had revelation from God. No one could take His life, but He laid down His life. He had completeness of love.

These things were not merely seeing or knowing in part, like a prophetic gift or a word of knowledge operates. He operated in fullness.

Jesus wants us to walk in the fullness

Jesus said, "Truly, truly, I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a seed; but if it dies, it bears much fruit." (John 12:24 Berean Study Bible)

Jesus' death was His glorification. He was the fully mature seed, a son in glory. The purpose of His death was to produce many sons in glory (Hebrews 2:10). Not just a few, but many. His will is that every single one of us in His body operates in His fullness.

Just as Christ was the apostle, prophet, pastor, teacher, and evangelist on His days on earth, so it is His desire for every member of His body to manifest His fullness.

How to walk in the fullness

Jesus made us gifts to each other so that we can be built up and equipped to walk in the fullness. We help each other grow where we are lacking.

"Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ." (Ephesians 4:11-13 New Living Translation)

That's why we have equipping hubs and hands-on events.

When we speak the truth in love, it helps us grow into the fullness.

"Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ Himself, who is the head." (Ephesians 4:15 Berean Study Bible)

The one that speaks grows by speaking. The one that acts on what is spoken grows by doing.

This helps us to avoid a "unity" that is not based on the Spirit of truth and agape love. Such a false "unity" will water down the power and keep people from walking in the fullness.

That's why we don't just tell what is of God but point out what is not in order to let go of it.

The devil's worst nightmare is a company of people all manifesting the fullness of Jesus.

We need to keep focused on the big picture. Let's be intentional about continuing to equip and be equipped; speaking the truth in love as well as receiving it in humility.

You too were made for the fullness of Christ.

Let's walk this out together.

One day, right before I went on a marketplace outreach at one of Holy Spirit Led Ministries equipping conferences, I got sick. I felt dizzy, tingly, and had lost my appetite.

When we started the outreach by going out for lunch, I still felt sick and wasn’t hungry. However, I ordered a six-inch sub as I normally do, though I felt impressed upon to order a footlong.

When I received my order, I spoke words that I would be healed and whole when I ate. I treated the sub and water like communion.

Nearly instantaneously, I got rejuvenated. I excitedly and loudly told my story of healing right there in the dining area. I could see some people in the restaurant turn heads. They heard it.

I regained my appetite and wanted more than what I had ordered.

Graciously, one of the fellow believers on outreach with me let me eat a significant portion of their food. The instinct I had to order more food proved to be correct. That instinct was actually of the Spirit. I will act upon that instinct the next time.

We all continued the day as we went on a marketplace outreach to speak to people about Jesus and heal the sick.

Change Your Mode of Operation for Spiritual Progress

In war or even in sports, you have an offensive strategy and defensive strategy. You cannot win a battle or a game in football for example by simply defending what you have, you must make progress by taking an active offensive position.

Spiritually, every single one of us has experienced either oppositional circumstances or sickness. The temporarily more comfortable thing to do if resort to only a spiritual defense position.

Specifically, a couple of ways this can look like is asking everyone to pray for us as we stop preaching the gospel, healing the sick, or casting out devils. This can also look like only praying on our worst days rather than every day.

As taught by the Lages, I knew if I was obedient to the basic command, offensively, not just defensively, it would break the attack of the enemy.

This is the basic command:

“As you go, preach this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven is near. ’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give." (Matthew 10:7-8 Berean Study Bible)

This is kingdom of heaven strategy, an offensive M.O. (mode of operation). When I obeyed the basic command, despite circumstances, I automatically entered into an offense mode of operation. I didn't feel like it. But Jesus is Lord and King and we ought to respond to that.

All of Heaven is cheering us on. Greater are those with us than those with them! We are in a spiritual war, and it is our honor to advance the kingdom of God.

Let's make our #1 mode of operation offense, not defense.

Three take home things to do today:
  1. Consider your life. How have you played defense? How can you start to play offensive today?

  2. Take communion to remind yourself of the victory. You don't even have to wait until an attack to do this (also an offensive move).

  3. Consider those instincts you have that are not contrary to the word of God. Move upon those instincts, and record the results.

How did this testimony, teaching, and activation impact you? Let me know in the comments.
